The role of an author is not what it used to be. Thanks to the power of social media, readers can now interact with their favorite authors on a daily basis, forcing authors into a marketing/PR role that takes away from the time they spend writing. Self publishing, too, has changed the book industry. Authors who decide to self-publish must take on editing, formatting, and other roles that would otherwise have fallen to a publisher.
So between editing, formatting, and marketing a book, when do authors have time to actually write? That’s where we come in. As virtual assistants, we work remotely and strive to make an author’s life easier.
